Charleston, WV (WOAY) – The West Virginia Division of Natural Resources wants to encourage hunter safety through education.
With West Virginia’s many hunting seasons, all the rules and regulations can be confusing.
Thats why the WVDNR provides hunter educations courses.
The courses are available to anyone who wants to know more about hunting rules and regulations. The courses must be completed, and hunters must achieve certification before you can purchase a base license. This requirement applies to everyone born on or after January 1, 1975.
The free, two-day, ten-hour course covers firearm safety, hunting ethics, first aid and conservation.
To sign up for the class visit www.register-ed.com/programs/westvirginia.
The material covered in the Hunter Education class is more than just knowledge for people who want to try their luck in an upcoming hunting season. The class contains information that will help people wanting to learn survival skills or how to be safe when handling a gun.
The Hunter Safety Course instructors are WV DNR law enforcement officers who are experienced hunters and experts in hunting regulations. Hunting safety protocols not only keep you safe, but they can also save your life.
