WV Hive supports struggling local business owners with town hall

OAK HILL, WV (WOAY) – West Virginia Hive, a business development program, held a town hall for business owners affected by the pandemic.

West Virginia Hive tries to connect with struggling businesses and guide them through the steps to get support, such as teaching them how to navigate government sponsored PPP loans.

Mary Legg, a business advisor with the West Virginia Hive said that during the pandemic, their business has started offering many more services for struggling businesses.

“Our idea was that small businesses are struggling in the COVID era and we offer a lot of business services. And we just wanted to touch base with some of these businesses, let them know what services we offer typically, and let them, know that we’ve pivoted the things we offer other than just traditional business advising,” Legg said.

The West Virginia Hive may offer more town halls in the future if they find the community has a need for them.
