WV Hive selects Splatter and Sprout Studio as 2025 Startup of the Year

White Sulphur Springs, WV (WOAY) A Greenbrier County business has earned statewide recognition for creativity and community impact. 

The West Virginia Hive has selected Splatter & Sprout as the 2025 Startup of the Year.

Mother–daughter duo Brooke Kelley and Stephanie Braden founded the creative play and art studio.

The space focuses on hands-on, open-ended art and sensory experiences that encourage children to explore and create without pressure. 

The pair were honored at the WV Hive’s Annual Awards Banquet and client showcase in Beckley this past December. 

WV Hive regional business advisor Devon Fitzgerald praised the studio for becoming a joyful and inclusive space for families across the Greenbrier Valley, highlighting its process-based art approach and commitment to serving children of all abilities. 

Fitzgerald also noted the team’s success in overcoming the challenges of launching a first-time business, from securing a location to building the studio from the ground up.

Since opening in August, Splatter & Sprout has hosted sold-out workshops and built a growing community centered around creative learning. 

The studio is at 729 Main Street East in White Sulphur Springs and is open 10:00 am to 6:00 pm Tuesday through Saturday.
