WV Hive and WVU Tech Launch Lab announces new sponsor and extends application deadline for pitch idea competition

Beckley, WV (WOAY) – The West Virginia Hive and WVU Tech Launch Lab announce a new sponsor for the Pitch Southern West Virginia Business Idea competition and a deadline extension to enter the contest.   

The extended application deadline is Tuesday, September 19th, at 5:00 p.m. 

Stephens Auto and WV Auto Buyers are sponsoring to boost the top prize award to $2,250 for first place. 

A technical assistance package will also be added to the community and student divisions to award $2,500 for first place, $1,500 for second place, and $750 for third place. 

Technical assistance funds will be used to contract vendors to retain critical startup business services such as marketing and training. 

The audience favorite award is another new element to this year’s competition, allowing the audience to vote on their favorite pitch.

The audience favorite winner will earn a $250 cash prize.
