WV DMV warns about new text scams

Oak Hill, WV (WOAY) – The West Virginia Division of Motor Vehicles is warning folks about two new text scams.

The DMV says it will never send a text requesting payment.

Commissioner Everett Frazier says that although the texts demanding payment may be professional, they are not real.

If you are wondering if something is actually from the DMV, you can always call them at 304-558-3900.

If you get a phone call from a different number that is demanding or makes you upset, it is probably a scam.
