WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, WV (WOAY) – Only a handful of days remain until the 2020 World TeamTennis season begins at the Greenbrier Resort!
Preparations are almost complete at the Center Court at Creekside, which will be able to host up to 500 spectators per day, with at least three matches per days scheduled between July 12 & July 30. Fans will have a temperature check taken before entering the stadium and must wear a mask at all times.
League CEO Carlos Silva and Tennys Sandgren, who will be playing for the Orlando Storm, are both excited for the start of the league, noting there are several protocols to keep players, staff, and fans safe over the next three weeks. Sandgren also talks about the challenges of returning to competitive play after the long layoff due to COVID-19.
The first match of the season features the Orlando Storm facing the two-time defending champion Springfield Lasers at noon Sunday. Additional matches later in the day will include Chicago Smash vs. Vegas Rollers, and Orange County Breakers vs. San Diego Aviators.
