Wonderful Weekend; Wetter Next Week

WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): We end the week continuing the dry streak as high pressure slowly leaves the region. It will bring us to the mid-70s and make for another enjoyable night of Fabulous Football Friday. Dry conditions continue through the weekend thanks to influence from the high-pressure system moving offshore, bringing us to the upper 70s and elevating fire risk. Make sure to follow the season’s burn ban while enjoying the nice weekend. Meteorologist Christian Boteler has the full forecast:

As we enter the next work week, Monday will remain mostly dry as showers stay to our south. The next measurable rain chance comes on Tuesday. A cold front will be approaching from the Midwest, bringing some showers ahead of it Tuesday afternoon and evening. The best chance of rain is on Wednesday as the front moves through the region. These showers will likely last through the day with minimal breaks from the rain, which is what the region really needs. While this system won’t singlehandedly recover us from the drought, it will help us out. Here’s a look at the upcoming weather pattern:

Thursday will be our first taste of Autumn thanks to the cold front passing through and giving us seasonable temperatures. It will be a nice day after a few lingering showers leave early in the morning. Overall, the weekend will be very enjoyable before we get some much needed rain in the middle of next week.
