WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): Labor Day gets us into Autumn weather right away thanks to cooler temperatures and mostly sunny skies. It’ll be a perfect day for any outdoor plans, whether they were originally slated for today or canceled thanks to Sunday’s pop-up showers and storms. It’ll be pretty uneventful for the first half of the week, but we’ll have some rain before we end off the week. Meteorologist Christian Boteler has the details:
With tomorrow being as uneventful as yesterday minus a few more clouds, our next day of concern is Wednesday into Thursday. A cold front is approaching from the Midwest Wednesday night, which may bring some overnight showers across the region. However, the best chance of rain is Thursday afternoon and evening as the front approaches and passes through the region, dropping a fair amount of rain. There’s around an inch and a half of precipitable water, which is maximum potential rainfall in an area, indicating some areas may reach above an inch of rain from this front. However, most of the region will be between a half and three quarters of an inch from Wednesday night into Friday morning. Here’s a look at the cold front and the line of storms head of it:

Lingering showers will be isolated across the region on Friday, but we’ll stay mostly dry before getting into the weekend. There is some disagreement for what Saturday will look like, though right now we are trending towards drier weather as another cold front passes through the region. We’ll be keeping an eye on things as they develop for the first half of the weekend. Sunday will be much of the same as we dip back down to a high of 70 degrees for the end of the weekend. Here’s a look at the 7-Day Forecast:
