Summers County, WV (WOAY) – A woman has been charged in Summers County for failing to help a person overdosing.
Leadeana Carter has been charged with one count of death resulting from failure to render aid.
It’s in connection to an incident that happened at Summer’s Landing apartments in Hilldale in February.
The victim, identified as Shawn Richmond, fatally overdosed. Summers County deputies launched an investigation immediately.
Following the investigation and an autopsy, officers concluded that Carter failed to help Richmond in any way.
She is being held in Southern Regional Jail on a $ 40,000 bond.
