Woman faces drug possession and breaking and entering charges in Kanawha County

Rand, WV (WOAY) A woman is facing drug possession and breaking and entering charges in Kanawha County.

According to the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office, on September 1 at 6:00 am authorities responded to a call reporting a breaking and entering in progress at the Rand Community Center.

The caller, who had access to a live surveillance feed, observed a woman placing a ladder against the building and climbing on the roof.

Upon arrival, officers climbed the ladder to the roof, where they discovered several items and an open window.

After entering and searching the building, authorities found Holly April Thacker hiding inside a clothing rack.

Thacker had a bag containing many stolen items, and a further search by officers uncovered suspected narcotics on her person.

Deputies also discovered that Thacker had defecated in a bowl inside the room where she was hiding.

Thacker admitted to breaking into the community center on two previous occasions, and the incidents were later confirmed through surveillance video.
Authorities arrested and charged her with Breaking and Entering and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
Thacker was arraigned in Kanawha County Magistrate Court and was ordered held on a $6,000 cash-only bond.
She is currently being held at the South Central Regional Jail.
