Kanawha County, WV (WOAY) – The man known as the Wolf of West Virginia has been sentenced to seven years in restitution.
Theodore Miller of South Charleston will spend seven years in prison and pay back nearly $400,000 in fraudulent wire transfers. Miller pleaded guilty to defrauding more than 180 people through two real-estate investment schemes.
He portrayed himself as a wealthy real estate mogul on social media; in reality, he had poor credit and thin margins and was delinquent on property taxes, bills, and loans.
He accepted investments to develop properties on Bigley Avenue in Charleston. He lied to investors, telling them they would receive a percentage return when projects were done and a share of rental income.
Miller’s mother pleaded guilty to helping with the scheme.
