Winter Driving Prepardness

Winter comes with its fair share of headaches, one of those include driving all together. Whether you are driving on snow or ice-covered roads, or you get stranded in the cold, there are multiple tips for preparing before you hit the roads that could help you.

I spoke with Morgan Dean, a spokesperson for AAA, and he had some tips for everything. “First off: The tires, check and make sure that you have good tread on those tires. The next thing to check is your battery. Are we having slow starts on a cool days? Because if we go into a really cold day, that’s that time period where that battery can really be challenged”, Morgan said.

He also had some tips for preventing Carbon Monoxide poisoning. He said “It’s really important whether you’re starting your vehicle at home or if you’re keeping it running as you’re sitting on the side of the road. Make sure that area around your exhaust pipe is cleared. You don’t want any of that backing up under or inside the vehicle where it’s dangerous fumes coming inside that can be harmful to everybody in that vehicle”.
