WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): A gusty front will trigger a few downed tree limbs and power outages Wednesday and rain comes back 48 hours later.
WINDS: A cold front will careen through with gusts reaching 36-50 mph Wednesday afternoon. Eastern Fayette, Raleigh, western Greenbrier and western Pocahontas can expect a few downed limbs and power outages. The tree damage and power outages will be widely scattered for the remainder of the region.
RAIN: A solid 0.50-1.0″ of rain is expected Thursday after dark until 4-5 a.m. Friday. The rain will trigger ponding of water in the dips of secondary roads, primarily because several storm drains are clogged by snow and the ground won’t be able to readily absorb all the water. We break into sun after 10 a.m. Friday. Between 6-10 p.m. Friday, a cold front will spark a few storms in eastern Ohio and western West Virginia, a few of which could survive to Route 19.
Additionally, there is upside risk for the Greenbrier River in Alderson to reach “Action Stage” on Saturday afternoon. This means flooding will stay just below Route 3 downstream from Alderson near Eagle Branch.
