Wifi hot spots ready for the upcoming school year in Mercer County

MERCER COUNTY, WV (WOAY) – Mercer County has wifi hot spots ready for students who receive iPads or laptops for at home learning in September.

The hot spots are part of Governor Justice’s “Kids Connect” effort that he announced last week. Wifi will not be available to those who park outside any Mercer County school.

“Every school in Mercer County is a hot spot, as well as Concord University and Bluefield State,” said Data and Information Specialist Amy Harrison. “I think Camp Creek and Pipestem State Parks also are hot spots. The public libraries.”

According to Governor Justice, transportation to the wifi hot spots will be available via school bus.
