OAK HILL, WV (WOAY)- As the summer rolls on, many will be looking to beat the heat by jumping in the pool. However, according to the CDC, pool chemicals can injure people when mixed together or when appropriate personal protective equipment is not used when handling them.
Here are some important things to keep in mind. Make sure to store chemicals in compliance with local or state building and fire codes. Pool chemicals should be stored below 95 degrees Fahrenheit and in conditions recommended by the manufacturer.
Be sure to protect them from getting wet and from heat sources as well as flames. Finally, remember that only allow those who have been trained in pool chemical safety practices to handle pool chemicals.
