West Virginia State Police to host sobriety checkpoint in Beckley on November 6

Beckley, WV (WOAY)—The West Virginia State Police (WVSP)-Beckley Detachment will conduct a sobriety checkpoint in Raleigh County on Wednesday, November 6. 

The checkpoint will be located along US Route 19, approximately one mile south of the intersection with WV Route 41, on Johnstown Road in Beckley from 6:00 p.m. to midnight. 

The checkpoint’s purpose is to deter impaired driving and educate the public about the dangers of operating a vehicle while under the influence.  

WVSP urges the public to assist them in preventing drunk driving by reporting intoxicated and drug-impaired drivers to local authorities.
