West Virginia State Police to conduct sobriety checkpoint in Raleigh County on August 23

Beckley, WV (WOAY)- The West Virginia state police will hold a sobriety checkpoint in Beckley on Friday, August 23. 

The checkpoint will be along U.S. Route 19, just south of the intersection with Johnstown Road, from 6:00 p.m. until midnight. 

The purpose of the checkpoint is to deter impaired driving and educate the public about the dangers of driving while under the influence.
