Pocahontas County, WV (WOAY) – The West Virginia State Police is investigating a fatal helicopter crash in Pocahontas County.
The helicopter went down along Huntersville Road in Marlinton. The Marlinton Volunteer Fire Department and Pocahontas County Office of Emergency Management responded to the scene along with state troopers.
The victim, Leo Basile of Authurdale, was pronounced dead at the scene.
He was the only person in the helicopter, which was owned by Waco Oil and Gas Company.
