Charleston, WV (WOAY) The West Virginia State Fire Marshal’s Office is seeking recruits.
The agency is encouraging people interested in becoming a sworn fire marshal to apply once positions are posted through the state’s Division of Personnel.
Fire marshals investigate fires, explosions, and potential fire-related crimes, while also enforcing state laws involving fire safety, explosives, fireworks, and electrical licensing.
Applicants must first pass an entry-level physical agility test, including 28 sit-ups, 18 push-ups, and a mile-and-a-half run in under 14 minutes and 36 seconds.
