GREENBRIER COUNTY, WV (WOAY) – The beloved State Fair of West Virginia has been an enduring tradition for 100 years now.
To take part in the centennial celebration, you need tickets. Advance ticket sales were available at the box office from April through July 28, 2025.
Many wait until the last minute. But it doesn’t mean you are out of luck.
Day of Sales are $15, Tuesday, August 12 is Dollar Day ($1 all day), and ride specials are on sale that day for $20.
“The second Thursday, the gate ticket is $5. And then the first Thursday, it’s $25 to ride,” said Ticket Office Manager Brenda Hunt. “Then Friday, the 13th, and Sunday, you are paying $15 to get in the gate if you didn’t buy an advance ticket. Sometimes during a concert day, we have what they call artist holds, and they might not use all the day’s artists. We always leave those for sale. But it’s not until that day of the concert.”
According to Hunt, every year, scams abound — so it’s important to buy your tickets from the State Fair directly.
