West Virginia is seeing the best ski conditions of the season

Raleigh County, WV (WOAY) – West Virginia’s five ski resorts are experiencing the best conditions of the season right now!

The last winter storm dumped a ton of fresh powder, and cold temperatures have kept it around. This, paired with ideal snowmaking conditions, has led to full slope coverage at resorts across the mountain state.

According to the West Virginia Ski Areas Association, resorts are seeing some of the best slope conditions in recent memory with increased base depths.

These conditions put West Virginia in a good place heading into the second half of ski season, which typically runs through late March.

Winterplace General Manager Josh Faber agrees with this assessment and could not wait to hit the slopes himself after speaking with Newswatch Reporter Caleb Pearl.
