Parkersburg, WV (WOAY) The West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection is ordering People’s Cartage to submit detailed cleanup plans following this week’s warehouse fire in Parkersburg.
The company must outline how it will remove debris, test for contamination, and remediate affected areas, along with timelines for completing the work.
Additional runoff controls are also required to protect nearby waterways.
The DEP says preliminary water samples from the Little Kanawha River continue to meet state water quality standards, and cleanup efforts remain under agency oversight.
