Princeton, WV (WOAY) – West Virginia American Water announces a new infrastructure upgrade project in Mercer County.
The project began this week in Princeton on Henry Street, with work extending from Park and Hale Avenue.
Construction will take place Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm, with traffic restrictions in place.
Main replacement work is estimated to be completed by the end of December, with final street restoration set to finish by the spring.
The upgrade project is a part of West Virginia American Water’s plan to invest more than $112 million in infrastructure upgrades statewide in 2025.
President of West Virginia American Water, Scott Wyman, says, “Our $345,000 investment on Henry Street is part of that commitment. By strengthening the system now, we’re helping to maintain resilient and sound infrastructure for years to come.”
During construction, customers may experience temporary service interruptions, discolored water, and/or lower-than-normal water pressure.
Crews will work as quickly as possible to shorten the length of these temporary inconveniences.
To report water-related emergencies such as leaks, main breaks, or other service disruptions, customers can submit a service request on the company’s website.
