Welch woman faces multiple drug charges after executing search warrant in McDowell County

Welch, WV (WOAY) A Welch woman is facing multiple drug charges after a search warrant was executed in McDowell County. 

According to the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office, deputies searched a residence on Beech Street in Welch on Wednesday.

During the search, investigators say they seized a large quantity of suspected methamphetamine and fentanyl, along with multiple firearms and cash believed to be connected to illegal drug activity. 

As a result, authorities arrested and charged Brittany S. Copley with possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, possession with intent to deliver fentanyl, and maintaining a dwelling for the sale of controlled substances. 

The McDowell County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Welch Police Department and the West Virginia Southern Regional Drug and Violent Crime Task Force.

The investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges could be filed
