Weekend outlook: more rain, warm temperatures

We’re expecting a decent start to the weekend with some patchy fog around the region, especially in areas that picked up rain late Friday night and early Saturday morning – mainly in the northeastern and southwestern portions of the area. Heavy rain fell there, and Flash Flood Warnings were issued for both parts of the area.
We’ll see some sun mixed in with some clouds Saturday morning, but as the day goes on showers and storms will develop. Some of these will again be on the strong side but will likely not be quite as intense as they have been on Thursday or Friday. Rain chances will be fairly high Saturday, at 60%, but will decrease slightly by Sunday to 40%.
High temperatures will be in similar territory to where they were the last couple of days and will generally be in the middle 80s. Lows in the mornings will be in the middle 60s. Both lows and highs will be slightly above the normal.
The main weather concern for both weekend days will be the possibility for flooding. There is a lot of moisture for any storms that develop to work with and since we have seen quite a bit of rain in some spots over the past few days, flooding could occur outside of the usual ponding of water on the roads and standing water in the low-lying spots if more rain occurs in those areas. Damaging winds are a lesser concern for both Saturday and Sunday, but especially on Saturday.
Beyond the weekend lies another few days of wet weather before dry weather takes over beginning on Wednesday and lasting through the 4th of July holiday.
