OAK HILL, WV (WOAY) – We saw some rain push through the area this morning and again this evening. The showers and storms were associated with a front that has passed to our south. With the front gone, the showers are as well. Despite the passage of the front, however, temperatures will not fall off much. Lows tonight will still be in the lower 60s.
The first half of the weekend tomorrow will start off nice. A warm front will eventually overspread the region and will trigger more showers and storms, but that won’t be until later tomorrow, so most of the day should be nice.

Highs will be around 80 degrees, close to where they were today (Beckley’s high was 81 degrees, while Bluefield reached 80 degrees). Most of the day will have a mix of sun and clouds, with clouds increasing around sunset. Along with the clouds, we’ll see a chance for showers and storms. None of the storms are expected to be severe, but some of the storms could have heavy rain attached. As has been the case so often recently, some flooding is possible with the rain that falls. The clouds and showers will keep it mild again overnight; lows will be in the mid-60s.
Sunday will see another cool front slide through from the northwest. The front will keep the rain machine turned on for the next several days as it pushes to the south of the area and stalls out, but for our Sunday, the rain will be more scattered than widespread.

Rain totals should be around a half inch to an inch, not enough to cause widespread flooding, but there could be some ponding water on the roads.

Outdoor plans should be ok, but an indoor alternative will be a good idea. Highs will go up by a degree or so on Sunday compared to Saturday. Lows will also go up by a similar amount between Sunday morning and Monday morning. As we start off the work week, chances for rain will once again be in the forecast.
