Weather Postpones Thursday Baseball Games

WOAY – Three area baseball teams were scheduled to take the field for home games on Thursday, but rain forced the postponements of games across Southern West Virginia.

In the Prospect League, the West Virginia Miners are about to open an important two-game series with Champion City at Epling Stadium. The Miners and Kings are each 26-23, tied for second in the East division and trailing Butler by three games.

Over in the Appalachian League, the Bluefield Blue Jays have a three-game series with Pulaski that is yet to start at Bowen Field. The Blue Jays lead the Yankees by 1.5 games in the division, having won six straight. Princeton will also begin a series against Elizabethton, as the Rays look to bounce back from two straight losses.

All three teams will have doubleheaders Friday beginning at 5 PM.
