Overall we have had a very dry day across Southern West Virginia and we will continue the dry days into Wednesday. The chance for isolated and brief showers exist late Wednesday night before rain starts to become a little more widespread across the region Thursday morning into early afternoon. Here’s a look at what Thursday morning could look like with widespread shower and storm activity. Some of this rain could be heavy as we are under a Marginal Risk of Excessive Rainfall across the entirety of our area.

While some of us might see heavy rainfall, the overall risk for widespread heavy accumulations is pretty low as most areas see in between a quarter of an inch to three quarters of an inch of rainfall. Some localized places could see areas of an inch or more, but they will be very isolated with whoever gets the heaviest of the rain.

Taking a look at the full 7 day forecast, things look pretty nice Wednesday, that 20% chance of rain is late Wednesday night into Thursday before Thursday and Friday bring the chance for heavy rainfall. Saturday looks to have the chance for lingering showers and storms before we start to dry up Sunday-Tuesday. Some models are hinting towards shower potential on Sunday, but right now that risk is too low to warrant a rain percentage.
