Water Stone Outdoors closes indefinitely in hopes to curb the spread of COVID-19

FAYETTEVILLE, WV (WOAY) – Water Stone Outdoors, an outdoor equipment and clothing store in Downtown Fayetteville, decided to close its doors indefinitely on Wednesday in response to the coronavirus.

Despite the closure during one of their busiest seasons, they know there are climbers and outdoor enthusiasts in the area on Spring Break so they are available by phone and email to still do curbside orders of equipment or other needs.

For now, co-owner Gene Kistler says it is about making sure everyone stays safe and healthy.

“We’ll just take it a day at a time, a week at a time. You know, I think we’ve got a lot to learn and that’s all we know at this point,” he said. “You know, Route 19, it comes right through the county, brings people from all over the world through here. I think we need to take this seriously and hopefully limit its impact.”

You can email them at: maura@waterstoneoutdoors.com or Kenny@waterstoneoutdoors.com if you want to arrange a pickup.
