MEADOW BRIDGE, WV (WOAY) – A warning about unsafe nitrate levels in drinking water was posted and then rescinded by Meadow Bridge Water and Sewer after a number was misentered on lab results.
According to a notice, the town initially put out a warning saying that its nitrate levels were seriously high and posed a risk to infants.
However, that warning was rescinded just a few hours later when the high nitrate levels were found to be a mistake.
The issue? The value for chlorine was entered into the spot where nitrate levels were supposed to go.
There is no ongoing risk at this time.
