WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): This Wednesday morning is a pretty typical one for this time of the year. Lows remain in the 40s and 50s, which is similar to yesterday. Fog is developing across the region, which will cause visibility issues. Remember to drive carefully and use your low beams if you run into fog during your commute. Conditions will improve later this morning, and skies should remain partly cloudy.
The sun is expected to peak out more than it did yesterday in some places, which is good news. Afternoon temperatures will reach the mid- to upper 70s, which is a bit warmer than yesterday. The evening commute will be smooth once again, and you will be able to shed any long sleeves for the rest of the day after the morning. Thursday will be another great day featuring mostly sunny skies and warm temperatures. The morning will be a bit milder as temperatures remain in the upper 50s. Afternoon highs will reach or even break 80s degrees, which continues the summer-like streak. High pressure will be leaving the region sometime tomorrow, but rain is not expected to reach us until Friday. If you cannot get out and enjoy today, try to do something outside tomorrow.
Friday morning will be similar to the last few, remaining calm and mild. However, the departure of high pressure in our area will allow the next front to eventually show up in our area. It is moving slowly currently and will likely keep that pace until reaching us. Isolated showers are trending to start in the late afternoon and evening.
A thunderstorm or two is possible, but storms remain isolated at best. Some football games will kickoff without issue, but others may experience wet fields. Rain gear will be helpful if you are headed to one of the games. The front will pass over the region overnight, which will drop temperatures and leave showers behind this weekend.
The front will have passed through by Saturday morning, but conditions will remain rainy and cloudy for the weekend. Temperatures also begin a dive into the lower 60s during the weekend. Overnight lows will dip even further, dropping into the 40s by Sunday night. Heavy rain is a possibility through the weekend, with the best chance coming on Saturday. Showers last through Sunday morning before moving to the southeast Sunday afternoon. Conditions will become dry early next week as a high-pressure system pushes the remaining activity away.
