Warm start to the weekend with mountain showers today, more rain to come

Happy Friday folks! We are looking at a warm and sweaty day across southern West Virginia. Temperatures will soar to the low 80s today and will stay in the 80s through Sunday. Today is likely to be the driest day of the week ahead, as rain chances are now expected every single day this week. A few showers will be confined to the NE mountains in our area this afternoon, but more rain is definitely on the way.

For Saturday, a few fast moving showers will head across our area and into the east midday through the afternoon. Sunday, rain looks to return that night with healthier rain lasting Monday until quite possibly the end of the week. Some forecast models have been disagreeing somewhat, so our confidence in rain lasting through Thursday is not incredibly high, however, it is looking favorable for daily rain chances across our area.

After a warm weekend to wrap up summer, temperatures drop back into the mid to low 70s by the end of the week.
