WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): The brush fire risk remains elevated through the afternoon, again Wednesday and then again Friday.
The burn ban continues, yes, but with low humidity, sunshine and a breezy wind, we are particularly vulnerable to the spread of brush fires through about 6-7 p.m. this afternoon. Wednesday and Friday will be a carbon-copy of each other with dry, warm and low humidity days. A thunderstorm is possible during the mid-afternoon Thursday in the southern coalfields, then a larger system will bring a few soaking downpours and storms this weekend.
