Walmart’s Great Value apple juice recalled over arsenic levels

West Virginia (CNN)—Walmart has recalled nearly 10,000 cases of apple juice because they contained potentially harmful levels of inorganic arsenic.

The Great Value brand apple juice recall got a more urgent classification following its original announcement on August 15.

The new classification says the affected product could temporarily cause adverse health consequences — but it’s not likely to cause severe or irreversible medical issues.

FDA officials have not shared any reports of possible illnesses associated with the apple juice recall.

The recall applies to Great Value apple juice sold in Walmart stores in 25 states, Puerto Rico, and the District of Columbia.
