Wade Center offers new computer lab for students doing remote learning

BLUEFIELD, WV (WOAY) – The Wade Center has installed a new computer lab for students.

The Wade Center offers various after school activities for Mercer County kids, and now they’ll let students reserve spots in their computer lab for virtual learning. And Mercer County has been doing remote learning since school began. The Wade Center’s executive director Betty Brainerd says they just wanted to help the community however they could.

“We are an after school program, but with our schools not being in session, a lot of our children with this online study don’t have the access. So when school didn’t open up on Tuesday the 8th, we decided we needed to get busy and see what we could do,” Brainerd.

Anyone interested in reserving a spot in the computer lab can call the Wade Center at (304) 323-3777
