WOAY – Virginia Tech’s home football game with North Carolina State, originally set for September 12, has been moved back two weeks to September 26.
The decision comes after NC State paused all athletic activities earlier this week, following an increase in COVID-19 cases on campus.
This means Virginia Tech’s season opener will be September 19 vs. Virginia, also in Blacksburg. Game times for all the Hokies’ matchups are still being determined.
In additional college football news, Marshall’s season opener with Eastern Kentucky will kick off at 1 PM September 5 in Huntington. The game will be nationally televised. Athletic director Mike Hamrick announced Tuesday that fans would be able to attend games, albeit with a limited capacity.
