BECKLEY, WV (WOAY) – Tuesday night the Beckley City Council awarded Vickie Webb for her volunteer work in the city.
Vickie Webb is the field director for the Health Science and Technology Academy at WVU Tech. She has volunteered her time to create an urban garden, a community transformation center to tutor students, a community transformation project which has a Science Technology Engineering and Math (STEM) program for K-12 students, and several other projects within the city of Beckley. In addition to the proclamation from Mayor Rappold, Ms. Webb was also given a key to the city.
“By giving generously of her time and talents to improve the lives of others and making the community a better place to live and work,” said Beckley Mayor Rob Rappold. “Ms. Webb is an example of what can be done within a community when you have vision and are willing to give freely of your time for something you believe in.”
Congratulations to Vickie Webb on this well deserved award.
