Veterinarians limiting some services amid pandemic

PRINCETON, WV (WOAY) – Due to the pandemic, many veterinarian clinics are temporarily limiting their services.

You can still bring your animal to a vet for emergencies, but many services aren’t available.

Dr. Gary Brown, a veterinarian at Animal Care Center in Princeton, says that spays and neuters for instance are not being considered emergencies in order to limit the amount of foot traffic they get.

“Right now the spays and neuters are typically not. There are emergency type of things that can be created because of pregnancies and things, so those have to be taken care of. But certainly just the spays and neuters are not,” Brown said.

The Animal Care Center and other vets in the area are also conducting some services remotely to further limit physical interactions.
