USPS announces rate increase for shipping services

Washington, DC (WOAY) – The U.S. Postal Service customers can expect to see an increase in shipping rates in 2026.

The Board of Governors approved the rate increase for Priority Mail, Priority Mail Express, Ground Advantage and Parcel Select. Customers can expect Priority Mail rates to rise by 6.6%, while Ground Advantage rates will increase 7.8%.

According to a media release from the U.S. Postal Service, the changes reflect market conditions and are part of an ongoing 10-year transformation plan. prices will remain the same for regular mailing services including the price of a first-class stamp.

The PRC will review the changes before their planned implementation on January 18, 2026.
