US 219, Peterstown-Lindside Road will temporarily close

MONROE COUNTY, WV (WOAY) – West Virginia Division of Highways (WVDOH) announces that US 219, Peterstown-Lindside Road, will be closed to traffic at milepost 4.02 beginning Monday, July 27, 2020, according to James F. Moore, District Nine Maintenance Engineer.

The closure will be located approximately 4 miles north of Peterstown, WV, and 4.5 miles south of Lindside, WV.  The roadway will be completely closed beginning Monday, July 27, at noon with anticipated reopening Friday, July 31.

A detour will be in place directing all through and truck traffic along WV 12 and WV 122 during the closure.  Local car traffic may seek alternate routes on secondary roads.  All travelers are advised to plan their trip accordingly.

WVDOH expresses their apologies for the inconvenience this may cause the citizens and guests to the area.  Motorists are asked to observe all traffic control signs and devices and use caution while traveling along detour routes.  Motorists should allow additional time for their commute due to increased travel times along the detour routes.  It is advised that large trucks avoid this area if possible.

The anticipated completion date for this project is July 31, 2020.  However, inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances could change the project schedule.
