Rupert, WV (WOAY) United Way wants to ensure local seniors have the tools and knowledge they need to be prepared when disaster strikes.
The organization, in partnership with Verizon, will host a free Disaster Preparedness Workshop on Tuesday, September 22, at the Greenbrier County Committee on Aging at 1003 Greenbrier Street.
The class will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Participants will learn how to build an affordable yet effective emergency kit, how to secure their finances before a disaster, and essential steps to take after an emergency happens.
Attendees will receive a free disaster bag, snacks, and a chance to win a solar-powered generator.
