Two vehicle accident involving school bus leaves one student injured

Fayette County, WV (WOAY) – An early morning accident involving a school bus resulted in a student being injured and travel delays.

Sheriff Mike Fridley reports that deputies responded to a two-vehicle accident on U.S. Route 60 near Hawks Nest State Park early this morning.

When deputies arrived, they discovered that a pickup truck attempted to turn and slid into the path of the oncoming school bus.

Student passengers were on board, and one was transported to a medical facility for minor injuries.

The driver of the truck was cited for traffic violations.

U.S. Route 60 is currently open to traffic.

The Fayette County Sheriff’s Department is actively investigating the accident.
