SUMMERS COUNTY, WV (WOAY) – Two students have tested positive for COVID-19 that attend Summers County Schools.
According to Superintendent David Warvel, the two students contracted the virus from family members and have been at home for the last two weeks. The Health Department conducted contract tracing and found that no one had been in contact with the students, but cleaning was performed. One student attends Talcott Elementary, and the other attends Summers Middle/High School.
Warvel went on to say that the staggered schedule that Summers County Schools is on he thinks helps with contract tracing and exposure.
