Fayette County, WV (WOAY) – Two men have been arrested for stealing political signs in Oak Hill.
Aaron Welch and Terry Holbrook have both been charged with conspiracy to commit a misdemeanor and petit larceny.
The signs advertised Brandon Gray’s campaign for Fayette County Circuit Judge and were set up at B&B Glass.
Officers say surveillance video showed a car pulling up and a man jumping out, pulling up signs, and putting them in the car.
According to a criminal complaint, Welch was driving his car, and Holbrook was in the passenger seat.
According to the complaint, Welch said that Holbrook asked him to stop so he could take the sign at B&B Glass.
Officers say Holbrook admitted to taking the signs, first saying he wanted the signs for target practice and later saying he wanted the metal frames for a project.
The signs have allegedly been returned to B&B Glass.
