Two men arrested for stealing from McDowell County cemetery

McDowell County, WV (WOAY) – Two men have been arrested for allegedly stealing from a cemetery over Memorial Day weekend.

McDowell County Sheriff James Muncy tells WOAY that on Wednesday, June 4, Sheriff’s Deputies investigated a tip related to missing items at a local cemetery.

After investigating, deputies arrested 38-year-old Michael Underwood of Tazewell, VA, and 32-year-old Grantlen Crigger of Huntington, WV.

Both men are charged with 5 counts of Damage to cemetery property, 5 counts of Grand Larceny, 5 counts of Destruction of Property and 5 counts of Felony Conspiracy.

According to Sheriff Muncy, deputies also have a third suspect related to this investigation. We will bring you more details on that arrest when they are available.
