Two injured at Summersville Lake after jumping from a cliff

SUMMERSVILLE, WV (WOAY) – Two people were injured at Summersville Lake today.

One male jumped off a 52-foot cliff next to the Hughes Bride at around 1 pm. He was transported to CAMC by Health net.

A second individual also was injured after jumping off the same cliff at around 5:30 pm. She refused helicopter transport. She was transported to Summersville Regional Medical Center.

Nicholas County dive team, Jan Care, West Virginia Natural Resource Police, and The Corps of Engineers all assisted in the rescues.
