Twins Take Game 1 of Championship Series

Princeton, WV (WOAY) – The Appalachian League championship series began Tuesday, with the Princeton Rays seeking their second league title.

It was the visiting Elizabethton Twins who scored first, with a two-run home run from Chris Williams in the first inning. Princeton answered with three runs in the second, highlighted by Jake Palomaki’s home run to right field.

However, the Twins went back in front in the fourth inning, going on to win 7-4 and take a 1-0 series lead.

Game 2 of the best-of-three series is Wednesday in Elizabethton. The Twins will also host Game 3 Thursday, if necessary.
