Charleston, WV (WOAY)—Treasurer Larry Pack is joining twenty other states in a letter to the Securities and Exchange Commission to initiate an investigation that could remove Chinese companies from the U.S. stock exchange.
The letter urges SEC chairman Paul Atkins to launch an inquiry into whether Chinese companies should be delisted from the U.S. stock exchange.
The states claim in the letter that the companies have failed to protect American investors.
In a media release, Treasury Secretary Pack says, “Efforts led by the chinese communist party to circumvent S. Regulatory structures have put American dollars at risk.”
