Trap Hill Little League, receives four brand-new fields in Fairdale

Raleigh County, WV (WOAY) – Well, as spring rolls in, it’s time to “Play ball”!

For Trap Hill Little League, they are going to do just that at four brand-new fields in Fairdale.

In 2024, the work began on the new diamonds and with a financial boost from the Raleigh County Commission late in that year, the dream became a reality.

Depending on who you ask Trap Hill Little League has been around since 1961, as well as the facilities they have been playing at. So, these new facilities are long overdue. The first game was played on Monday, but the official opening for the 2026 season is Saturday.

The league has increased from around 250 to 320 kids, and everybody is excited.

However, the growing pains aren’t quite over. Parking at the new site is a concern, and carpooling is encouraged. There will be parking for side-by-sides, so if that is a legal option for you, please do.

Families are also asked to bring their own seats, as bleachers were not included in phase one.

They hope to increase parking and add bleachers in the future, and if you’d like to contribute to the cause, you can visit thlittleleague.com to make a donation.

Trap Hill Little League has been around so long that it is a generational right of passage for families in the area.

Let’s all wish the kids a fantastic and fun season at their new home.
