Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum set to re-open its doors for historic tours on March 28

Weston, WV (WOAY) One of West Virginia’s most iconic historic sites is preparing to reopen for the season. 

Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum will reopen for historic tours on Saturday, March 28.

The gates open at 9:00 a.m., the main doors open at 9:30, and walk-in historic tours begin at 10:00.

This year also marks the return of the First Floor North Tour for its third season, now featuring an extended route with new areas and updated storytelling. 

The popular 90-minute Daytime Paranormal Tour is also returning with a brand-new route and topics. 

Officials say extensive renovations have been completed to further highlight the building’s history and architecture. 

To celebrate opening day, the first 250 guests will receive a commemorative wine glass while supplies last.
